1. What is the best time?

The best time to make a trip to Athens It is from April to June and from September to October, when the temperatures are more pleasant, the prices of the hotels are lower and there is not much tourism.
In summer, especially July and August, temperatures usually exceed 30 degrees and the heat is suffocating and also, islands such as Mykonos and Santorini, are very crowded by cruise tourism.
The worst time to travel is in winter when there is a good chance of rain and few hours of sun, although temperatures remain warm.

2. Required documentation and security

For travel to Athens o Greece, if you are a Spanish citizen or from another country of the European Union, you only need to show your ID or Passport, without needing to obtain a visa. If you are not from any EU country we recommend you check the official website or call the Greek Embassy of your country or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to find out what are the required documents.

Another of the almost essential documents, although not mandatory, is the European Health Card that allows you to receive the necessary health benefits if you suffer any mishap, free of charge.
In any case, if you want to have a wider coverage or you are not a citizen of the European Union, we recommend you to hire the best travel insurance to Europe to have services such as repatriation, which is not included in this card.

Another of the best and most expensive areas for sleeping is around the Sintagma Square, located a few minutes walk from the Plaka neighborhood, with a great offer in restoration and good communication with the airport.
