So after several trips to the city, the last of a one-month stay in Notting Hill during which we wrote the travel guide to London, we leave you what are for us, the best places to eat in London. We start!

Basic tips for dining in restaurants in London

It is important to be aware that eating in is not the same restaurant in London than do it in any other European city or in the world. Although in many aspects it might seem that it is the same, there are certain nuances or details, which it is convenient to know in order to fully enjoy any of recommended restaurants to eat in London.

  • The first thing to keep in mind is that there are endless options to choose from. In addition to following this guide as an example, we recommend using an application such as TripAdvisor or any other, where you can see in detail the recommendations of the area in which you are.
  • Although there is a widespread idea that eating in London is very expensive, it is important to know that many restaurants serve a daily menu, many of them even on Sunday, which usually has a price of between 12 to 15 pounds and includes two or three dishes.
  • These menus are sometimes advertised at the door, however, once you enter the restaurant, they directly give you the menu, but they do not offer you the menu. Ask for it as it is very common.
  • In the London restaurants, the tip is not mandatory. If you liked the service, you can leave 5-10% of the total bill, but it is not mandatory.
  • Continuing with the theme of tips in London, it is equally important that you look at the ticket, since there are some restaurants, especially the most tourist, they already include a service fee, which can range between 10 and 15%. If you see that this is the case, at no time do you need to leave more since the service and the tip are included.
  • Another important thing to keep in mind is that in London you can drink tap water so something very common is to order directly in restaurants "tap water".
If you do they will serve you a jug with tap water and you will save between 4 and 5 pounds that usually costs a bottle.
  • Regarding the reservations of restaurants to eat in London, although it is not essential, it is recommended, especially if you want to go to one in particular and this is small as well as highly recommended.

Both paninni and salads are very good and prices are quite tight, with about £ 10 being a main course plus drink.

StreetXo London
Known for being one of the most top restaurants in Madrid and having had an incredible experience there, we decided to try the one in London that unfortunately, stayed in a I want to but I can not In all rules.
The first thing that caught our attention was that we went on Father's Day and at noon there were only 4 tables to serve and despite that, the dishes were served with enough space between them, especially the first ones, for which we were waiting for more than 30 minutes and in the end they forgot about coffees. This is something that you can not afford when you are paying almost 200 euros to eat, and they only have 4 tables to serve.
They have a tasting menu and menu, which was why we decided to try a little of everything. The very good gyozas, the wrinkled potatoes without more, the incredible croquettes (although those of Madrid we liked much more), the cannelloni good, but nothing memorable. The Pad Thai tastes very good and socarrat, which we had been talked about so much, we didn't find it funny.
As desserts we asked for a "birthday cake" that was good and a cheese cake that we didn't find any flavor.
In short, if you want to enjoy StreetXo, we recommend Madrid much more than London. What bothers us most is that we were going to enjoy and repeat several times during the month we were in London and in the end it was once and failed.

StreetXo London

Mber
Located next to the Sky Garden, one of the best viewpoints in London, Mber is located another of the most recommended places to eat in London.

We ordered duck bath, gyozas, waygu burger, soft crab massaman curry with rice, dessert and coffees for 91 pounds. Spectacular!
Although we were recommended 3 dishes per person, it is true that with six dishes and a dessert you stay well, so at any given time if you are not very hungry you can order two dishes per person and a dessert and it is also quite Right.

Mber

This was probably the biggest disappointment of our entire stay in London. Known for being a whole authority in foot & mash, Goddard at Greenwich this place probably serves the cheapest feet & mash of the city in a restaurant and we believe that this is the main reason for the recommendation since they are not up to any other that we have had the great luck to try.
We paid £ 13.95 for two feet, one double, beer and soda, but as we said before, we did not like anything, so we can not recommend it at any time, even if it is very economical.

Goddard at Greenwich

Etnacoffee
In Marylebone we can find one of the many branches that Etnacoffee has to eat in London or drink coffee. In addition to a good "black gold", they serve very good canoli with which the reason why they are specialists in Sicilian varieties is evident.
If you have eaten at Honest Burger, on Baker Street or you are in the area, be sure to try the cannoli and its lemon cakes.
We paid £ 9.55 for a cake, two small cannoli and two coffees.

Etnacoffee

Keep in mind that it is not a cafeteria, so you cannot sit down and you can only buy cookies.
